DESCALE COFFEE MACHINE

Coffee makes up for many unpleasant things in our lives. That nasty Monday morning becomes a bit more pleasant after a delicious cup of coffee and those long nights of studying or writing reports are also easier with a nice cup of coffee. But oh god, a red light starts flashing... where are those damn instruction booklets again? Don't worry: your machine is not broken, it's just time to descale again. We are happy to explain how you can descale your coffee machine so that it is nice and clean and fresh again.

DESCALING WITH NATURAL VINEGAR OR LEMON JUICE

Of course you can run to the store and buy the most expensive descaling agents, but fortunately there is also a cheaper and more environmentally friendly solution. Use natural vinegar or lemon juice. This not only allows you to be frugal with your well-earned euros, but you also help the environment. Sounds like a win-win if you ask us.

STEP 1: MIX YOUR DESCALING AGENT WITH WATER

First of all, we would like to tell you that you should not throw the entire bottle of lemon juice or the liter bottle of natural vinegar into your coffee machine. This will do you more harm than good. You make a mixture of 50% lemon juice/natural vinegar and 50% water. Stir this well to make sure everything is well mixed together.

STEP 2: CLEAN YOUR DEVICE

You start by cleaning your coffee maker. Empty the machine and rinse all parts thoroughly under a lukewarm tap.

STEP 3: DESCALING THE MACHINE

Now that all parts are clean, you can start descaling your device. You fill the water reservoir with your mixture and turn on the coffee machine as if you were going to make a cup of coffee. The stuck-on limescale is now loosened by the warm mixture that runs through the machine.

STEP 4: CLEANING WATER TANK

You have already cleaned the outside of your coffee machine in step 2. It is now important that you also clean the inside of the device. Otherwise you will taste a very bad taste in your coffee the next time. You rinse the water reservoir again under lukewarm water. Make sure you do this long enough. You will automatically smell when there is no more descaling agent present.

STEP 5: FLUSH UNIT

Now that you have cleaned the water tank you can start cleaning the rest of the machine. Let the machine brew a few cups of hot water so that the descaling agent is rinsed from the machine.
