WHERE DOES THE LIME GO WITH A WATER SOFTENER?
A water softener is able to filter limescale from water, but where does the limescale go?? The limescale particles stick to synthetic resin beads. Over time, these beads become saturated and the system must be flushed. That is why a traditional water softener also needs to be maintained. There is also an alternative, namely the Amfa4000®. This system does not remove lime from the water, but changes the crystal structure of the lime particles. This means that there is no longer any limescale, but there is also no need for a reservoir to store the lime. The Amfa4000® therefore does not require any maintenance.
