LIMETE DEPOSITS: WHAT EXACTLY IS IT?

Limescale, lime, limestone, ordirty deposits on my shower doors, it doesn't matter what you call it . These are different names for the white haze that we would all like to get rid of. We now know that lime has a nasty effect on various household appliances. Just think of your dishwasher, your kettle, your washing machine and your coffee maker. But that's not all, limescale also causes a dull haze on your tableware. How that is possible? We will explain it to you.

THE ORIGIN OF LIMESCALE DEPOSITS

No, we are not going to bore you with all the chemical formulas. We're just going to explain it to you in understandable language. Ready for? Limescale mainly forms when you heat water. Think of your kettle, for example, when you want to make a cup of tea.

Calcium and magnesium are present in our drinking water. These two mix together when you heat the water, i.e. when cooking or showering. When these two substances are connected, so-called lime crystals are formed. And this is how limescale is formed. The number of lime crystals formed depends on the water hardness in your region. You can request this from your water supplier.

HARD WATER? WHAT IS THAT?

Okay, so we just talked about the hardness of your water. But what is hard water then? Hard water is water in which a large amount of calcium and magnesium is present. Here in the Netherlands we express water hardness in dH (German hardness). Confusing, we know. Water of less than 8 dH is called soft water. When your water has a value between 8 and 12 dH, we call it average water. If your water is between 12 and 55 dH? Then you have hard water.

WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF LIMETE DEPOSITS?

Limescale has several unpleasant effects. You will notice that the taps, for example in your kitchen or bathroom, suddenly no longer shine. The limescale has given them a dull, white appearance. You will also notice that your shower doors are no longer completely transparent. You will see small, dried white spots. If you do not descale your shower head every so often, you will notice that your shower jet starts to feel a bit weaker. The holes are clogged with lime.

Okay, so your kitchen and bathroom are areas that you definitely want to descale thoroughly. But also think about your household appliances. All appliances that use warm (hot) water will need to be descaled occasionally.

HOW TO GET RID OF IT!

So now you know what limescale is and how it is formed. But what is perhaps much more important is how you get rid of it. You can of course get started with home, garden and kitchen remedies. This takes a lot of time and is not a permanent solution, and that is of course what you are looking for.

Waterontharder4u.nl has developed a very powerful anti-limescale system. The Amfa4000® is a small device that contains magnets. These magnets ensure that calcium and magnesium cannot crystallize. No lime crystals means no limescale on your shower doors, beer glasses and your household appliances.

This means you no longer have to scrub a hernia to get your things clean. In addition, the Amfa4000® prevents new limescale deposits. The limescale will always remain in the water, but will no longer adhere to taps, shower doors or other objects.
