NEEDS A WATER SOFTENER DRAIN?
The average water softener has a salt reservoir. The salt water must also be drained to the sewer. In general, a water softener does indeed need a drain. There are some exceptions. If a water softener does not work with salt, no drainage is usually required. There is also an alternative to the water softener, namely Amfa4000®. This system works with a magnet and does not require a drain. The system is also easier to install due to its small size. If you are looking for an alternative to a water softener with drain, then the Amfa4000® is not a bad choice.
